I'm Allegra, a 1st year PPA MSc Student (and a former BIG student!). I am passionate about writing and photography, trying to hold on to what might otherwise slip away, like details, expressions, and fragments of reality that deserve to be truly seen. I am a huge techno fan and activist ... so if you don't find me in class or studying,  it's because I'm either dancing or advocating for social justice or human rights!

Whose Future Are We Protecting?

We are very good at being horrified for a few minutes. We read the messages. We shake our heads. We say that something should have been done. Then we close Instagram, go to class, meet our friends, complain about our day, and eventually forget. Someone else does not get to forget on command. And perhaps that is where our responsibility begins. In the friend who refuses to laugh. In the person who speaks when everyone else stays quiet. In the institution that keeps caring after the headlines disappear. In the stranger who chooses compassion over curiosity. In all the moments when protecting someone costs us something, and we decide they are still worth protecting. It is easy to say that survivors are not alone. But it is much harder to make sure they actually are not. Whose future are we protecting?

Monday Briefing 28/09/2026

Today’s Monday Briefing highlights the restart of the extremely deadly Ethiopian civil war. Here in Italy, we discuss rhetoric around fashion and feminism. Around the world, we cover a dispute between Anthropic and the US government, the effects of Houthi attacks on Middle Eastern diplomacy, and lacklustre education results in Latin America.

Healing Is A Difficult Journey

Healing doesn't begin when the pain disappears. It begins when we finally find the words for it. Rupi Kaur's poetry reminds us that the deepest wounds are not always the ones we carry, but the ones we are unable to name.

Rosa Luxemburg: The Legend I Found In The Footnotes

History is often told through the lives of a few great thinkers—most of them men. Yet, countless women have shaped political, social, philosophical and cultural thought while remaining at the margins of collective memory, only to be largely forgotten. Rosa Luxemburg is one of them: a thinker whose legacy still challenges us to reconsider who we choose to remember, and who gets left in the footnotes

Talkin’ bout (a) Revolution: An Evening Where Change Felt Quiet and Possible

What does it mean to speak of revolution today? Not a rupture, but a process: uncertain, plural, unfolding through language and everyday shifts. Change resists spectacle: it emerges through hesitation and dialogue, quietly reshaping what can be thought, said, and lived. Long before it ever becomes visible in the streets.
