Like every year, as the days grow longer and hotter, the emptying halls across Bocconi start echoing with one question: “so, after exams are over, where are you going?” A mosaic of answers: some are yearning for home, others for adventures in new cities, new countries, new lands. Until one day it feels like everyone has left on their own adventures, soon to become stories each will bring back with them in September. Our goal at Tra i Leoni is to tell these stories. To tell you about the places we come from, the places we love and the places we’ll discover this summer.
It is with this objective in mind that we present our Summer 2025 Issue: “The Wandering Lions”. During these summer months, when the Bocconi campus empties and is left to be guarded only by the two lions in Sarfatti 25, we look for the places that matter to us beyond Milan. Every week until September we will bring you a new set of stories exploring, through a personal outlook, the places that make us who we are. This summer, join us on what is going to be an exciting journey. Happy reading!
Every week we’ll explore a different outlook on our journeys, here is what will be coming to you soon:
- 7 -13 JULY: South American travels. Our authors explore Argentina, through its wild landscapes, and Brazil, through its food.
- 14 -19 JULY: How do we explore? What do we look for to learn more about the culture of a country?
- 21 -27 JULY: Home and Home away from Home. In one of the most defining experiences for Bocconi students, we explore what it means to build a life in a new city, and what it feels like to return to the place you’ve always called home. As part of our Home Away from Home series, we share personal stories of “life away”, whether that means leaving one’s hometown to study in Milan, or living abroad as an exchange student, and the unexpected ways distance reshapes our sense of belonging.
- 28 JULY -3 AUGUST Where the heart lies. These are the summer destinations which will forever live in our hearts. Let’s travel through Italy to chronicle the landscapes that bring us peace.
But, of course it doesn’t end here! In August and September we’ll bring you many more stories. We’ll travel to the Balkans, to China, to Japan and beyond. We have so much in store for you. Guess you’ll just have to wait and stick around to find out more!
Having lived both in Italy and the UK, I enjoy exploring how multiculturalism affects our personal identities. I use language, writing and journalism as tools to decipher the world around me. And, I will of course never turn down a lively convo about current news. With a degree in Economic and Social sciences, I’m now pursuing a master’s in Politics and Policy Analysis.
