A significant yet undisclosed number of Covid-19 cases has been identified today following a screening campaign at the Spadolini Residence, the media report, after a number of other cases had already been reported during the past week.

The Milanese health authorities (ATS) have henceforth decided that the residence be quarantined for 14 days, starting today, 22nd February 2021. The decision is analogous to the quarantine of the Castiglioni Residence in October 2020.

The screening campaign, which has involved an antigenic swab taken on all students who volunteered to, will be extended to other students’ residences in the next few days. Currently, some of the students who tested positive are still waiting to take the molecular swab test.

The roughly 170 Spadolini residents will take another swab test after 14 days. Meanwhile, they are mandated not to leave the residence, whereas those currently away may not return there “until at least 9 March 2021”, according to the relevant protocols. The use of common areas is allowed only with regards to kitchens, and only for those who did not test positive.
